Spread the love

I read a story about how hard pregnant women work and decided to write an alternative point of view. I understand that I automatically fall into the category of insensitive men who do not understand what it means to be pregnant, but maybe there will be objective people who think about this problem and will not judge one-sidedly.

So, let’s say there is a small company that is active in the summer, which summer is not the dead season. Whether it sells ice cream or installs air conditioners, it doesn’t matter, as long as you have to work. The work is not hard, there is no need to carry bags, but there is also no time to sit on “facebook”. This hypothetical firm employs 9 people: 2 men, who do all the relatively hard work, and 7 women of childbearing age. Hypothetical, because in fact two girls have gone on paid leave – they “have already agreed” and “bought a ticket.

Hypothetical, because in fact two girls have gone on paid leave – they “have already agreed” and “bought a ticket.

And two more turned out to be unexpectedly pregnant (7th and 2nd month). And if the first two at least quietly bailed, actually put the leadership to inform about their vacation, the two “pregnant” seems to be working, but in fact it would be better to sit at home. Because their constant avoidance of work on the objective and far-fetched problems (mostly the second, but God forbid you to even think so – just become the same inhuman, like me) degrades the team and virtually paralyzed the company. No one wants to work for themselves “and for that girl,” who happily stays at work, doing nothing, “so as not to harm the baby” and is covered by the law, according to which pregnant women can not work at work.

As a result, the work of the company is kept on 3 people, including the director, who work almost around the clock. But you know what the funny thing is? The “pregnant women” were terribly offended when they raised their salaries by 50% and promised a bonus at the end of the season. After all, they all work, they’re a team, and they were neglected and financially offended. They have so much to spend after the baby is born – they need the money!

The situation is real, happening now in the company of an acquaintance of mine. Who had to postpone his vacation for the winter for this reason, and whose wife is very unhappy about it. She, too, had planned her vacation, and she, insensitive and yet childless, does not care about her husband’s conscience, or about women’s solidarity, or about the rights of pregnant women.
