Spread the love

I read in the comments to this confession the opinion of women who are sure that “pregnant women are owed everything,” and bitterly realized that my mentor at work was right. Despite her cynicism and lack of even a hint of female solidarity, she is an excellent professional and does her job well. She is the head of human resources at a large industrial enterprise, where I have been working for seven months now.

The point is that she doesn’t hire women if they can be replaced by a man. Even if a man drinks, has a poorer education, less work experience, and wants a bigger salary, it is still a man who will be hired. This seemed illogical and wild to me at first, but after understanding the situation in practice, I understood why this was the case.

Even if a man drinks, has a poorer education, less work experience, and wants a bigger salary, it is still a man who will be hired. This seemed illogical and wild to me at first, but after understanding the situation in practice, I understood why this was the case.

Dear Women! You pay lip service to equality, claiming your potential, intelligence, and professional qualities. But it’s not like that. Every third woman is just waiting to get married and quit this damn job. Every third is sure to get snot all over her when her bosses yell at her for screwing up her job. Yes, a gentleman shouldn’t yell at a lady, but you’re not a lady here, are you? At the same leader shouted at the men, and there was no fainting, the shop did not stop working and all the mistakes were corrected long before the women’s council dragged crying “poor, offended and miserable” from the toilet. The women’s council didn’t care about the company’s losses and disrupted schedules-it wasn’t their money.

It is these women who will intrigue, propping one another up with cute smiles, holding a stone behind their backs. I have not seen such a thing among men; if there is competition there, it is clear, open and honest. You can rely on a man, he will do what he promised. He won’t ask to go to the nursery for the child, to the beautician or to the car wash. He understands what work means, what he is paid for and what he has to do. He knows that the excuse “I’m a man and I have to!” will cause nothing but laughter from coworkers and supervisors. A woman, on the other hand, genuinely wonders why she has to sit at work if she “has to.

And finally about pregnant women. Children are wonderful. But if a couple has a child, the woman will quit her job, in spite of the effort spent on her preparation, and the man will work for two. Therefore, an experienced HR manager will not risk hiring a recently married 25-year-old “specialist” if there is any male alternative. You can talk as much as you want about the laws, but according to the law you are not the only one who has to.

As long as women pay lip service to one thing and actually do another, we will never have the same wages, working conditions, and career prospects as men. Not all women see their purpose in getting married as soon as possible and in diapers, but everyone is treated equally prejudicially. This is a fact and a repeatedly proven fact of life.

Jeanne, now the “experienced women” will prove to you that you are wrong and on the wrong side of the war

Jeanne, what is the point of your confession? To complain that everyone is prejudiced against you? Life in general is not a fair thing. You have a point. But are you ever going to get pregnant yourself? Then you’ll decide what you’re owed and what you’re not. You will never understand the other, or rather, you will never feel what he feels until you are in his place. First of all, about your human resources manager. You don’t really know her. Maybe she comes and is crying into her pillow, that she has to work hard, and still no man. Like in the movie “Office romance. And maybe women do not take, as there is a hidden motive – not love for them. Or the head of your company gave such a directive, and it does not come from her personally. Yes, and if it’s an enterprise where they need more male labor, then they take more men. You don’t know her motives completely.

Then it’s one thing to hire a young woman, a potential pregnant woman, so to speak. It’s another thing if you’ve been working for several years and suddenly got pregnant. The team knows you, appreciates you, has built relationships (and you can’t do without them, everything in life is based on relationships), then you internally and expect them to help you, so that pregnancy is not so hard. Not all jobs are such that they don’t take potential pregnant women. Companies and businesses, especially private ones, yes, but, for example, kindergartens, schools, orphanages, etc. Centers, hospitals – they do, young professionals are valued there, young people are needed there. And the fact that the wages are miserable – this is the state to ask.

And about the “a gentleman shouldn’t yell at a lady, but you’re an equal specialist” What does it mean to yell at an equal specialist? Yelling is the last thing to do.

    You want what:

    – so that women would stop getting pregnant?

    – So that the newly married don’t break into businesses?

    – that pregnant women keep quiet about how hard it is for them?

    – that newly married people don’t have children right away?

    – so that attitudes would stop being biased?

If the latter, then we live in Russia, which is full of all kinds of stereotypical thinking, bias, and other unpleasant things. We ourselves are prejudiced against all sorts of things. Come on, dig into your memory. Everything needs to be proven to everyone. Dear men, take care of women. After all, a woman is a great way to dilute any male collective.
